- Made from logs that are unfit for sawmills.

Our charcoal and the environment :
- Greenhouse gas: carbon neutral. Being harvested with rigid guidines, our charcoal can be considered carbon neutral. The regeneration of forest with young trees will re-sequestered the carbon emmitted but the consumption of hardwood charcoal. ANd all of this will be done within a lifecycle of a tree which is 20 to 30 years. This is different where gas and propane will take thousands of year to recapture the greenhouse gas it emits.
- Since 2002, Basques Hardwood Charcoal has maintained a recognized sustainable development management standard CAN/CSA-Z809 (2002).
- For the treatment of its smoke, Basques has, for many years, been maintaining environment standards imposed by the Ministère de l’environnement du Québec.
